re: "I think it is a case of all seamless gearboxes are not created equal." they aren't. the tech's not "plug and play". nobody's surfing amazon, placing an order, receiving a box in the post, and dropping 2 secs off their lap. re: "The Duc has supposedly had one for quite some time" more like TRIED one quite some time ago, was a disaster, and has likely been shelved. re: the Honda gearbox really comes into its own on stop start circuits which require drive out of slow turns..." ...onto an unprecedented 1200 metre straight where kit repeatedly rows up thru at least 4 (maybe 5?) gears. 4 x 20 laps ='s 80 torque breaks ='s reverse gear. re: "Word is the works Yamahas are now running a seamless shift gearbox similar to Honda. that's not the word. word is their WORKING on it. i bet they haven't even cut metal. listen to me now and believe me later (hans voice), the tech won't come within 10ft of ross and jay's M1's until they know it won't generate DNF's.
