Rossi is Yamaha's cash cow, even if his results go on the slide they'll keep him because his association with the brand ups the profile and sells bikes....that's how racing works these days unfortunately.
Cal can only hope that Yamaha reward his efforts by getting him/Tech 3 more up to spec with upgrades etc or he has to hope that Bradl disappoints and a works satellite Honda becomes available next season.
