Given that Crutchlow is 'constantly improving', as you point out, then what he did last year is irrelevant. He's clearly already a better rider than he was then so you can't take what happened last year or the year before as a predictor for the future. What will determine his quality as a rider is how he performs in the future rather than in the past.
Interesting story on MCN about engineers from the factory team going to the Tech 3 garage today to take a peek at Cal's data for Rossi and JL. Yamaha are certainly taking notice.
