I'm confused by the prospect of leasing an M1 engine. Surely that sits outside of the CRT regs, because you can't claim that for euro25,000 or whatever it is! If you can lease an M1 engine can't Aprilia 'lease' their WSBK spec engines, or at least create a hybrid engine based on the WSBK engine which can meet CRT service intervals but is closer to 240bhp than the 215bhp or whatever it is now? Can't help thinking that if Espargaro has a full fat superbike engine with gear driven cams and whatever else they want to do he'd be even closer to the front.
