My oh my this is all getting very complicated, what happened to 'keep it simple, stupid!'
For all this there will still only be the factory bikes capable of winning unless conditions allow others to get near occasionally.......there's no way the factories and their sponsors, who expend obscene amounts of resources on winning, and employ the best riders, are going to let go of their stranglehold on the championship, why would they? There's no chance that they will provide a bike or engine capable of beating their own kit and the amount of money required to develop a chassis to suit the M1 engine is out of the reach of most, already Kalex have told Mark VDS they aren't interested in providing a chassis as there's insufficient return in it. The only way this can be made to work is if Dorna provide the funds to help more teams compete, no doubt using funds created by their crap TV deal with BT.
What next, a BSB shootout type points system?
