Lorenzo managed to regain some very valuable points from the race and young Marquez learned a very valuable lesson that "to finish first, first you must finish". Yes Bautista's and Rossi's coming together was an unfortunate incident that could have seen Rossi challenging the riders up front as this is his home track. but the real issue here is that rider safety is being brushed aside for the sake of entertaining fans appetite for close racing. We have seen riders collisions before with a notable Jerez this year but as Lorenzo said after that incident these things will happen as this is racing but there are rules in place to protect the riders and ensure that riders ride with respect and safely, if not then they are to be assessed penalties under the point system by race direction. Not to throw anyone under the bus but this type of incident has been too frequent on the part of Bautista.
