shamarone, you are confusing endurance sport with fast twicth / skilled sport.
Footballers, tennis players, boxers, rugby players, motorcyclists, sprinters any sportsperson that requires fast twitch muscle, balls and reaction speed peaks before they are thirty. That doesnt mean there aren’t freaks out there that are still competitive after thirty compared with others, it’s just they are not as good as they were at their personal peak. Rossi is well past his peak.
Endurance sport is completely different, you can continue to manage and tune slow twitch and increase cardiovascular fitness well into your forties, it requires, experience and grit, but generally not much in the way of coordination.
Be surprised if he wins a race again, he is up against a group of young and freakishly talented riders. Which is a shame for the fairytale retirement.
