I don't know why so many people slag off Paul Bird. Yes, he has a side to him, like any successful businessman, but name any other Brit who has and is putting his own money into racing like PD? In terms of bike, he has made it clear that he wants his own UK-made prototype chassis. He wants to do it his way, with his money, so what is wrong if he concentrates in that direction? He has every right to. As for Ellison, frankly what has he ever really done? Eons ago he was European Endurance Champion but nothing since then. He has never even been close to winning BSB and can only be regarded as a journeyman rider at MotoGP level. Laverty is doing far better and deserves another shot at it next season, hopefully on a much improved package.
