It seems that VR can't 'adapt' and 'ride around' or 'change style' or whatever term you want to call it, enough to compensate for a less-than-perfect (for him) bike? Either that, or he ain't fast enough - those are the 2 possibles it seems. Its been a struggle to find near-perfect (for him) set-up on Ducati OR Yam. Ducati ok, as its obvious that to get race-winning speed out of one required a certain retired Antipodean. The fact that its still an issue at Yamaha though (unless he really shows super-strongly and is able to quali and race close to Jorge at Assen) will soon start to cement the idea that VR simply isn't as fast as the other Factory pilots. He has the continuity of the crew that has set-up all his premier class bikes, so the finger has to point at Vale's personal performance. Assen will be illuminating I think barring incident.
