I agree.. Any rider dreams to ride for a factory team. And God knows best Cal of all people deserves a good factory ride.
But is the Ducati a good factory ride? I don't think so. It is just my humble opinion but a lot of evidence supports it. No one has been anywhere close to the front on it in the past 2.5 years..
Thinking long term, is it good for Cal? Suppose it doesn't work out at Ducati, where does he go from there? Andrea has made the call and it don't look good for him does it? Who do we talk of more this year? Andrea or Cal?
A factory ride would be wonderful for Cal but not Ducati mate.. I would hate for him to not realise his potential. He has come too far to fade out now. That red devil is a career killer. We have seen it too many times in the past.
