Japanese makers like Honda and Yamaha have in the game for so many decades. And they continued till now plus they invested a lot compared to the other bike makers. The vast amount of knowledge they have simply blows the other bike makers. Continuity is the key. The problem with the likes of Aprilia etc is they’re more of a touch and go when it comes to the premier class. I think the last prototype engine went into flames. Ducati has been in the game for some time but how is their winning record. They only won with CS piloting in 07 with special tires etc. Even a maverick like VR couldn’t pilot the duke to winning state. So, the other makers aren’t up to spec with the Honda and Yamaha especially in the prototype arena. Even BMW makes noises about joining MotoGP but I don’t think they’re up there with the elites like Honda and Yamaha. If we remove prototypes, we’ll end with second-class technology.
