Each bike is different from one anther. Every bike has their own plus and minus. At this situation having control tyre is an indirect way of forcing all bikes to adapt to limited selection of tyres to get the best possible output and all development process will head towards a same direction and then in few years all bikes are more or less similar so there will be no meaning for having having three different manufacturers. Control tyres doesn't suit to all bikes equally at the time of introduction,, one team might enjoy a great deal but other might suffer deep, its unfair in initial stages,, it might even take long long time for suffering team to level the field. So more choice of tyres are always welcome, every team has equal number of choices to choose from and they select what suits them the best,, fair in all ways..
