I think this confirms Aspar will be running Aprilia engines next year. My understanding of the changes is it will allow Aspar to run an upgraded Aprilia engine with their current ecu software instead of the stock software without Aprilia needing to comit to a full factory team and the cost involved. As the Aprilia WSB engine is apparently more powerful than the MotoGP engine im sure it can be much quicker next year and should technically count as a new team with the improved engine allocation. Ducatti should be worried!
