Some of you are missing the point. Run a full bore factory engine with the spec ECU software you get 12 engines, more important there is no freeze on engine developement and can have as many riders as you can build engines for. Therefore you can use a private team to do engine developement, give them financial support to do so. Secondly if a factory want to field an extra rider, put a full blown engine in say an FTR and give that team factory status, again private team gets assistance. Or just simply carry on and build your own engine without the worry of it being bought. I am sure that some will say factories running GP, but that is what it is for developement.
