The "problem" with multiple one tyre manufacturers is that Dorna loses control over the "racing".
Look what happend in 2007 when the wrong guy ended up with tyres that allowed him to extract the full potential of the Ducati. Rossi was whining, Dorna was pulling it's hair out and there was nothing Dorna, Honda,Yamaha or Michelin could do about it until 2008.
Back in the good (?) old days when it was really just Michelin, whoever could twist Michelins arm the hardest (usually Honda) got better tyres for their machines.
