No, Casey and Honda are not seriously considering a race return. The multiple testing events, the carefully controlled media coverage, including 30 odd photos for only six laps, and having nearly his entire race team including chief mechanic fly all the way to Japan to set up the bike for him are just the "little things" Honda would do for any test rider.
I seriously suspect this is Honda's and Casey's way of gauging interest and speed. If he's quick (of course) and willing (very likely) we will see him back in MotoGP.
