It might be a waste of time, but probably not.
They might be able to at least extrapolate some data using their in-house MItsubishi electronics for use with the spec ECU next year.
I'm willing to bet that the MM spec ECU is lightyears ahead of their MItsu system. I remember it always being the problem back in the day.
If everyone has to use the spec ECU, then it just levels the playing field. Of course, it depends on which factory has the best data engineers to squeeze every bit out of the programming.
My biggest worry is that they are coming in 2015, which gives everyone else 1 year to perfect the system in race conditions before Suzuki even gets a try.
