@BJR, Firstly, MM is the real deal and people need to accept that. Dorna, Honda & Rossi have accepted it and even Stoner felt the need to recapture "15 minutes" of publicity. Secondly, I think you are referring to 2011 where Dani was leading the WC when he was taken out by Marco and missed 4 races (i think). Dani was not wasting the bike, stoner used dani's data also (door swings both ways...couldnt see a "wall"?) and he benefited from both variables much like Marc is now. As for many other posters on this thread stating Marc has so many advantages in his rookie year, well I guess that just proves his "reputation" preceeded him and Honda see him as the future. They saw it in Doohan, Rossi, Pedro & now in Marc.
