**bubble,I take your point but disagree on the basis of 'prototype'. Certain parameters should be cast in stone like capacity and fuel limit. But prototype should also encompass the tyre and chassis manufacturers. What next? Enforce a suspension supplier rule. The tyre war needs to be resumed as a matter of GP urgency,otherwise it will devolve into a UJM X2 sport.
UJM = Universal Japanese Motorcycle. Notably Yamaha/Honda. Hell, not even their stablemates at Kawa and Suz can compete anymore. Surely a tyre war enticing Aprilia/BMW/Triumph and a resurgent Ducati would be prefereable to the current state of affairs. Or maybe its just survival of the fittest. Hardly a spectacle anymore.
