@ Poddy. Absolutely agree.
I've had plenty of negativity myself for my views on this. I always viewed Motorcycle Racing fans as generally quite knowledgeable and interested, as well as being race fans first and fans of a rider second.
Unfortunately we have seen a big rise in the 'football-fan' mentality among racing, and this sort of fan just wants to support a successful rider and don't care HOW he wins, just so long as he does.
So these masses had no interest in listening to the chap who's gone fishing - preferring to lay into the guy and accuse him of whining (mainly cos he wasn't the rider they supported & the 'football-fan' mentality is to hate your favourite's strongest rivals).
All the evidence is right there in front of us though to prove the fisherman was right in his views. Seems Michael Scott is prepared to stand up and be counted - long overdue IMO (I think its perhaps a view that could never gain support while Rossi was dominant), but welcome all the same.
