Hmmm - how close is Ezpeleta to retirement (and does THAT date depend on how fast / how much of the money rolls in) I wonder?
Has anyone actually considered what would happen to MotoGP if Suzuki changed their minds, Audi yanked Ducati, and Yamaha realised they cannot live with HRC's money and are going to get beaten regularly - and also retire?
All of Dorna's eggs are in the 'factory' basket and the independents are being squeezed. That's a high-risk strategy, esp. when this route is killing the raison d' etre - the Racing.
It might take a season or 2 - but the above COULD happen. What happens to MotoGP then?
