The political, financial, technical situation within MotoGP as well as the balance of power has shifted hugely since 2004 and 2006. its a completely different animal - you might as well compare a 15-yr-old BMW 3-series with a Bugatti Veyron - there is no similarity and no safe comparison can be made.
Marc may well be "the real deal", but then I believe so are several of his peers - despite his talent the distance between him and his opposition owes a lot to the package under him. And "advantage" to MM means by definition "disadvantage" to everyone else (except maybe DP).
Its a sad fact.
