I think Joeski has been mostly correct in his posts. But I would like to add that maybe the bike after being developed for JL doesn't have enough adjustments to get it right for Rossi's style. Or JB just isn't with the program anymore. The Yamaha is a finicky beast, once dialed it is great. But that bike is now designed for high corner speed, NOT late braking and changing lines mid corner like it used to be. Lets fact it if Rossi was too old he would be struggling in the second half of the race, not the first.
