You and me both. It was surmised that Honda instigated it so they could just lop off one of their 5 cylinders. Who knows?
Why return to 1000cc so soon after, because WSBK were getting too close in lap times maybe?
It's ironic that the 800cc gave Casey a WC and the constant rule changing caused him to retire.
Let the manufacturers and teams and riders have a summit, thrash out some rules, and then keep them for a minimum of 5 yrs. Might encourage some new entrants.
