I agree with what somebody else said on a previous article about this incident and that is that Honda should've designed the software to default the traction control to a safe mode if one of the sensors is dislodged or the cable breaks. The way it is currently a rider could crash out through cornering too fast, snap the cable whilst sliding though the gravel, re-mount and then highside at the next corner.
