A couple of guys have already picked up on bits of this eg, 'Rossi's watching and testing settings rather than going for fastest times'. TBH I reckon what we're seeing isn't comparing apples with apples. Gorgeous George and DtD are hammering it round to please the home crowd, Randi de P and a few others are too. But I suspect a lot of the field are more concerned with testing settings than usual - maybe because conditions (tyres/heat/track surface) have changed more since practice a few weeks ago than expected.
