Qualifying times - German MotoGP

Full qualifying times from the German MotoGP, round eight of the 2010 world championship.

The session was red-flagged after a huge engine failure for world championship leader Jorge Lorenzo.

Ben Spies and Randy de Puniet fell on the oil. Spies returned to the track but de Puniet, who hits Spies' bike as it lay in the gravel, headed for the medical centre to have a foot injury examined.

Reigning seven time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi is making his return to MotoGP action this weekend, after missing the last four races due to a broken right leg.

Alex de Angelis also returns to MotoGP, in place of the injured Hiroshi Aoyama at Interwetten Honda.

insider information What a C**K How quick can YOU stop a bike covered in oil and on fire doing 170+ mph? Lorenzo didnt have time to plan anything he was just trying to keep shiny side up and scrub of the speed in a safe way. Have you ever ridden a bike at these sort of speeds if to have you will know you cover the ground very very quickly
