Estoril MotoGP - Saturday practice times

30 October 2010

Saturday's track sessions have been extended to one hour due to time lost on Friday after bad weather.

This morning's session was once again wet.

Casey Stoner fell in the opening ten minutes and Ducati team-mate Nicky Hayden ten minutes after that. Both were highsides: Stoner as he applied the throttle, Hayden on corner entry. Stoner was unhurt, Hayden limped away. Both returned to the track.

World champion Jorge Lorenzo then fell in the final minutes, after setting the fastest lap time. Lorenzo, riding in his astronaut livery, walked away from the big highside - an almost identical crash at the same turn as Stoner. Lorenzo's airbag deployed.

Carlos Checa is returning to MotoGP for the final two rounds in place of Mika Kallio at Pramac Ducati. Checa raced in MotoGP from 1995 to 2007, winning two races, before moving to WSBK.

Rizla Suzuki's Loris Capirossi is riding despite being diagnosed with fractures to the right foot he injured in Malaysia, on top of the groin injury he sustained last time out in Australia.

Former title contender Dani Pedrosa, who withdrew from the Australian event after attempting an early return from a broken collarbone, will be aiming to last the full weekend at Estoril.
