Thursday 6pm MotoGP test times - Sepang

Sepang MotoGP test times as of 6pm on Thursday, the end of the third and final day at the first test session of 2012.
World champion Casey Stoner beat the best 800cc test time (and smashed the official lap record) on only his second lap, during cooler conditions this morning.

As reported, a thunderstorm shortly after 5pm effectively ended the test, but these are the official end of day lap times.

All twelve manufacturer riders were present for the three-day test, plus the Forward Racing and BQR 'Claiming Rule Teams'.

The also test marked the first time that the new version of the Ducati GP12 has been seen in public.

The next official test will be held back at Sepang from February 28-March 1.

Oh dear, here we go with the 'Honda is fastest bike' rubbish again. Take away the freakish riding of Stoner, Yamaha completely dominated this test, they set fastest consistent laps. Take Stoner away Yamaha would have won both the Manufacturer, Rider and Team World Championships again in 2011. Yamaha clearly have the fastest bike. If it's true that every bike Stoner hops on is suddenly the best bike, then it must also be true that he is the real development god as well as a being speed demon.

Last year Rossi ended up 1.085s off the pace. He had a terrible bike and a sore shoulder that he claimed cost him at least 0.5s. This year he has a wonderful bike and his shoulder is fine, and he ended up 1.217s off the pace. I wonder what the excuses will be....
