Friday practice (1) - Indianapolis MotoGP

Full Friday free practice times (1) from the Indianapolis MotoGP, round 11 of 18.
The session was briefly red flagged when Pramac Ducati's Hector Barbera, making an early return from a broken leg, suffered a highside with ten minutes remaining and was taken to the medical centre for a check up.

Two wild-card CRT entries are present this weekend: Steve Rapp (Attack Performance), who took part in the previous Laguna Seca round but failed to qualify, and fellow AMA star Aaron Yates, who is making his MotoGP debut for GPTech.

This class is going to be so, what’s the word I’m looking for (Virtueless, Contemptible, Ignoble perhaps?) next season. Stoner & Spies both gone, Dovi saddled with the miserable Ducaudi, and likely no title sponsor. Marquez waltzing into Stoners Ride like he earned it, Smith Waltzing into Dovi’s ride like he earned it, the CRT debacle etc. If Rossi hadn’t signed for Yamaha there would be practically nothing worth watching it for next season. As it is I think the battle is going to be between Pedrosa, Rossi, and Marquez for a lot of 2nd place finishes, followed at Some distance by Cal, Nicky and Dovi. All the simpletons who keep saying that MotoGP doesn’t need the factories, simply have no concept of the sport. Has anyone (of note) ever uttered the phrase “did you see that amazing CRT battle this weekend”? I weep for the future! Muchas Gracias Carmelo!

Another excellent display of power sliding from Stoner. Should get faster times next session and I bet Jorge will be up there. Great job from Nicky, that is where I like to see the Ducati.
