MOTOGP » Valencia MotoGP test times - Wednesday 2pm

MotoGP lap times as of 2pm on the second and final day of the post-season Valencia test.
Following Sunday's season-ending Valencia Grand Prix, a two-day post season MotoGP test began at the circuit on Tuesday.

Day one was marred by poor weather, which caused seven of the 21 riders to remain in the pits and prompted the Factory Yamaha team to send Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo to Aragon for day two.

Unfortunately, rain has been falling off and on at both Valencia and Aragon on Wednesday.

Rossi, who rode 28 wet laps during his Yamaha return on Tuesday, and reigning champion Lorenzo have both reportedly been on track at Aragon - where some World Superbike teams are also testing. Lorenzo fell without harm on the wet track.

Moto2 stars and 2013 MotoGP rookies Marc Marquez and Bradley Smith did not set a lap time on Tuesday at Valencia. Smith then left the pits for his first MotoGP laps with Tech 3 Yamaha, on wet tyres, shortly after midday on Wednesday.

The 21-year-old Englishman has so far lowered his best time to within 3.2s of new Ducati test rider Michele Pirro.

As well as Marquez and Smith, Dani Pedrosa, Cal Crutchlow, Shane Byrne, Danilo Petrucci and Lorenzo sat out day one of testing. Ben Spies, moving from Yamaha to Ducati for 2013, is not present due to recent surgery. His place is being taken by Pirro.

Alvaro Bautista's Tuesday time was set on slicks, just before rain arrived.

I really fancy Andrea to be the one to watch once he gets the hang of the Ducati tyres etc he will really push hard I reckon and if he bins it a lot well we will know that the Ducati has not progressed.
