Saturday practice - Qatar MotoGP, Losail

Free practice four lap times from the Qatar MotoGP at Losail, round 1 of 18.
FP4 is a new session added for 2013, due to the change in the MotoGP qualifying format.

All 24 riders took part in the 30-minute final practice, which will now be followed by Q1 and then Q2 qualifying sessions, each just 15 minutes in length.

The top ten riders after Friday practice go straight to Q2. The other 14 must take part in Q1, where only the two fastest riders will be allowed to join Q2.

Your detail concerning Q2 is incorrect - its not Friday's free practice top 10 that go toward Q2. To be correct its Saturday's FP top 10 plus top 2 from Q1. But hey ...we're all getting used to these unfair new rules... just ask any racer who belts out his engine in Q1 week after week to get in top 2 to flog it around again in Q2. The bikes are only allowed 6 engines throughout the season. New rules are unfair for the lads in the averaging middle placements.
