Valencia MotoGP test times - Wednesday 3pm

Lap times as of 3pm during Wednesday's third and final day of post-race MotoGP testing at Valencia.
Following Sunday's Valencia MotoGP season finale, an official test session is being held at the circuit from Monday to Wednesday.

The test marks the first appearance for Cal Crutchlow at Ducati, Nicky Hayden at Aspar, Moto2 world champion Pol Espargaro at Tech 3 and former title rival Scott Redding at Gresini.

The new Open class machines from Honda and Yamaha are also making their official debuts.

Wednesday's track action began at 10am, but rain is forecast and spots briefly fell at around 11:30am. Some teams - including Yamaha - concluded testing on Tuesday.

I would have been neutral on Smith this year. He had done a decent job of staying upright and easing himself into the bike and team and progressng all of the time but I dont recall one single session where he showed even a flash of potential front running pace and I would have had my doubts because of that. Lot of rookies crash a lot but you can see raw speed underneath. All fairness to him he has put that right today. Nicky seems to have hit a wall in low 32s and I expected a lot more form that bike
