Sepang II MotoGP test times - Friday 4pm

Lap times as of 4pm during Friday's third and final day of the second pre-season MotoGP test at Sepang.
Reigning MotoGP champion Marc Marquez is not present, after fracturing his right leg in a dirt-track training accident last week.

The PBM team (Michael Laverty and Broc Parkes) is also absent, having decided to focus on machine development back at its UK base. Iodaracing (Leon Camier and Danilo Petrucci), which skipped the first Sepang test, is again missing.

Testing began at 10am and concludes at 6pm however Valentino Rossi, currently fastest, concluded testing at lunch time.

After Sepang the official Honda, Yamaha and Ducati teams will hold their final test at Phillip Island (March 3-5), while evaluating tyres for Bridgestone. The other teams will test at Qatar from March 5-7.

Black = Factory/Open class Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone confirmed use of the Open class software on Thursday. Ducati riders are due to continue comparisons between the two types of software today. The deadline for entry in the Factory or Open class is the end of today.
Likewise test riders could be using either software, although Suzuki is so far planning to enter the Factory class.
Blue = Factory class - Control ECU hardware, but manufacturer software.
20 litres of race fuel, five engine changes for the season. All engines must be identical throughout the year, within the same team (development freeze).
Red = Open class - Full control ECU system, hardware and software.
24 litres of race fuel, twelve engine changes for the season. No engine development freeze, plus a softer rear tyre allocation relative to the Factory class.

At the moment, both Ducatis ahead of both Tech3. Makes a change. Pol settling in well, Rossi confident, Jorge sulking. As regards Jorge, it is showing that the wide open lines with heavy reliance on edge grip, doesn't work when your confidence is compromised. Let's see how Marc copes. Mind you that will be at a different track.
