Qatar MotoGP, Losail - Free Practice (1) Results

Free practice (1) results from the 2014 Qatar MotoGP at Losail, round 1 of 18.
The official Honda, Yamaha and Ducati teams did not attend the recent Qatar test and were thus at a disadvantage this evening.

The session was briefly red flagged to clear debris from an accident by Yonny Hernandez, who walked away from the spill but was then sent for X-rays on his right shoulder.

Rookie Scott Redding didn't record a fast lap until the closing stages due to technical problems, while Michael Laverty did not set a lap time.

World champion Marc Marquez was riding his first MotoGP laps since fracturing his leg in February. Pol Espargaro was back on track despite breaking his collarbone at the Qatar test.

Waiting now for Dorna to change rules again... Espargaro to get softies taken away if he leads more than 3 practices in a year, or 1 qualifying. .. If he wins a race, well, instant disqualification.
