Brno - Free practice times (2).

Repsol Honda's Nicky Hayden is absent from the event after injuring his right heel on a Supermoto bike at the X Games on August 1.

Honda Gresini's Shinya Nakano is riding a 2008 factory spec (valve-spring) RC212V for the first time this weekend, a bike which will form the basis of Honda's 2009 satellite machine.

The Brno circuit has been resurfaced for this year's event. Stoner turns tables on Rossi in FP2, but also runs off track at the end of the session...

Rossi is fast?!?! That's unbelievable!! I would have never thought it possible from one of the best racers of our generation, on an obscure Japanese bike that no one has ever heard of, with no racing pedigree whatsoever! End sarcasm. This has grown tiresome. Rossi could have a Pratt & Whitney jet turbine strapped to his bike, and some would still be crying about Stoner's horsepower advantage. Why can't everyone just pony up and say that they have no clue what the specs are for each of these bikes? No one has seen a dyno chart, no one knows the gearing, nothing. A 2 kph advantage at the end of a long straight hardly tells the whole story about a bike's advantages AND disadvantages.

LOL..... disadvantaged by extra body weight now. That's a new one. You rossi fanboys just dont surprse me any more. What's next, age disadvantage? Extra helmet weight? The colour red makes the ducati go faster? :) Keep up the good work boys.
