Following Sunday's Valencia MotoGP season finale, an official test began at the circuit on Tuesday morning.

The test offers the first chance for riders to appear with their 2018 teams; Jack Miller at Pramac Ducati, Scott Redding at Aprilia and Tito Rabat at Avintia Ducati, while rookies Franco Morbidelli, Takaaki Nakagami and Xavier Simeon are making their MotoGP debuts.

Thomas Luthi is missing the test due to foot injuries at Sepang and is replaced by HRC test rider Takumi Takahashi.

Testing takes place from 10am to 5pm…

You'd think the Factory Yamaha's would be itching to get on track and start testing and gathering as much data as they can in the time frame they have?

Yeah, you would think so. Bike preparation perhaps i.e. swapping bits between '16 and '17 frames etc ?
