Following Sunday's Valencia MotoGP season finale, an official test began at the circuit on Tuesday morning.

The test offers the first chance for riders to appear with their 2018 teams; Jack Miller at Pramac Ducati, Scott Redding at Aprilia and Tito Rabat at Avintia Ducati, while rookies Franco Morbidelli, Takaaki Nakagami and Xavier Simeon are making their MotoGP debuts.

Thomas Luthi is missing the test due to foot injuries at Sepang and is replaced by HRC test rider Takumi Takahashi.

Testing takes place from 10am to 5pm.

Valentino Rossi and Alvaro Bautista both walked away from big accidents just after midday. Suzuki team-mates Andrea Iannone and Alex Rins are not testing today due to a stomach virus...

I hear from Monster Tech 3's Facebook that Zarco is running the 2017 chassis? Can anyone confirm this. If so that is one stellar time to be putting out first time out with it.

Miller right up there on Petrucci's old bike, what's happened to Petrucci lately?

Looks like it's going to be an even tougher grid next year.

He's running the 2017 bike yes, it has been confirmed by Herve Poncharal.

Impressive.

Great ride by Johan

Some on this site were saying put Morbidelli on a repsol to give MM a little competition. He's not exactly setting the world on fire

As one of the Moto Gp commentators and ex motorcycle racer said Sunday, Franco Morbidell is doing the right thing signing for Honda but unfortunately he is get on the Satellite Honda not the Repsol Honda.

They are all 2018 spec Hondas next year like they were all on 2017 bikes this year.
Its why EG 00 stick with Honda. They need some riders like MM to extract the few tenths they need to win races. Honda even removed Dani's crew chief Ramon Aurin to help Jack but Jack could not ride it like MM to finish on the podium.

@V46R

Mirbido is getting the 2017 Repsol next season. Get your facts straight before talking nonsense. But even the satelite he has now is good enough for wins. With honda its the same like it was before with ducati. if you re talented and can adopt you re gonna win like stoner proved. if youre not talented enough you re not gonna win like rossi and pedrosa proved many times. easy as that. so for morbido having marcs repsol next year he needs to show good results at least as good as zarco this year. he has no excuses about the bike.

Give him chance, he's just swung his leg over the bike...

Le's see you get on a Moto2 bike and instantly ride fast.

A rookie signing for Honda and MarkVDS is career suicide.

Given that it is now the off season - I really think that Pedrosa is the second best rider on the track and he often looks bad on the Honda. (Look at previous results. Pedrosa > Stoner > Dovi.  Dovi > Lorenzo > Rossi (close.) ) Iannone > Dovi ? Just have to find Zarco's spot in there. The Factory team seems to get better parts and a better setup.

Morbidelli, I would love for him to do well. I would have stayed in Moto2 rather than ride a Honda. He is not as good as Pedrosa and will ride a crap bike, and the results will erode his confidence.
