Rookie Karel Abraham took a best finish of seventh in damp conditions at Jerez and then in the fully wet British Grand Prix. Qualified as the top Ducati rider (sixth) in dry conditions on Saturday at Silverstone. Finished as the second best satellite Desmosedici rider in the championship, behind Hector Barbera but ahead of Pramac's Loris Capirossi and Randy de Puniet.
Missed the Japanese round due to injury. Failed to finish five of the 16 races he started. Lost out on the Rookie of the Year title to Cal Crutchlow on the very last lap at Valencia.
