Having spent the last two years in the British Formula 3 championship, driving for Carlin, Maro Engel moved up to the DTM for 2008 as a factory Mercedes-Benz DTM driver.
What do you drive? Mercedes-Benz C Class 320 Cdi with AMG-styling package
What was your first car? Mercedes-Benz A Class 150
What was your best car? My current car, by far the best car I've ever had, and also one of the nicest things that comes with driving for Mercedes-Benz in the DTM! In fact every time I get out of my car and walk away I catch myself looking back at it.
What is your dream car? Mercedes C63 AMG
Do you consider yourself to be a good driver? I guess that depends on how you define good, by my standards I would say yes.
What do you always keep in your glove box? Plenty of CDs
What drives you mad behind the wheel? Traffic jams, people sitting on the fast lane when the other lanes are empty and people that drive irresponsibly.
What’s the best music to drive to? I like to change my CDs a lot because I tend to get bored of it quickly. At the moment it’s Justin Timberlake, Usher and a mix of the newest songs.
Have you ever had a crash? I got distracted and bumped into the car ahead of me at traffic lights some years ago, it won't happen again!
Who would be your perfect passenger? Well that’s where we get back to distractions... anyone from FHM's 100 sexiest women.
(Best answer so far - Ed)What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done in a car?Maybe not the craziest but certainly the funniest thing was cruising down the motorway with my racing helmet on; you should have seen the woman’s face at the toll booth.
Who cleans your car and how often? I clean my car myself every week, because I like to keep a clean car.
