Defending champs thrown out of results for former GP2 ace's latest error.

Michael Ammermüller has been excluded from the results of the Durban A1GP sprint race for having been deemed to have caused ‘an avoidable collision'.

The German was initially classified sixth, but he was subsequently stripped of that position after being held responsible for causing the accident that led the race to be red-flagged a lap early. The 22-year-old ran into the back of the Netherlands' Jeroen Bleekemolen at the final corner of the challenging street circuit, immediately bringing out the red flags.

“He has been pushing people off in every race,” a disgruntled Bleekemolen asserted of his assailant. “You brake and he just knocks you off. This guy is impossible to drive with; you can't race with him in a fair way. There are 20 drivers you can drive fairly with, but not him.”

The disqualification for the reigning series champions moved the USA's Jonathan Summerton up into the points, and controversially marked Ammermüller's fourth penalty of the 2007/08 World Cup of Motorsport campaign.

In the sprint outing in Malaysia, he collided with Canada's Robert Wickens for which he was handed a 25-second time penalty, whilst in the following feature event he was given a pit-lane drive-through penalty for an incident with Great Britain's Oliver Jarvis, and ultimately excluded for a similar incident with Erik Janis' Czech Republic car later in the same race.
