Field was co-driving the P1 car with MICHAEL DURAND, who was replacing DUNCAN DAYTON for the weekend. Durand is now without a ride for the weekend.
Dayton is off at Road America this weekend for the Brian Redman International Challenge Vintage Car races. Dayton owns the 1978 Lotus 79 John Players Special, and is running it in the Historic Grand Prix race, which is part of the 450+ field of cars. The track is saying this is the largest vintage race in the United States.
Jon Field is joining his son for the weekend. RIP - Rank is privileged - and comes with the territory when you're the team owner. They will be the only father-son combo this weekend in ALMS.
Young Field just turned 21 last month and he is the youngest driver racing in the ALMS race this weekend. At the other end of the scale, the oldest driver is TOM WEICKARDT, at 57. He is starting fifth in the GTS class in #71 ESP.Poly Pro Dodge Viper, tenth overall.
The field is down to 25 cars, with Field's withdrawal, and the #78 J3 Racing Porsche 911 GT3 RS remaining on display as a show car in the garage.
