It's bright, sunny and brisk at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the Monterey Sports Car Championships. American Le Mans Series is the feature headliner for full weekend which also includes SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge, IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge Presented by Michelin, Star Mazda Championship Presented by Goodyear, and SFR Mazda Miata Challenge Series. It will be a challenging weekend indeed.

There are 28 cars entered for Saturday's afternoon-night race and all 28 have been on course. The breakdown is: P1-6; P2-5; GT1-7; and GT2-10. Tyres are 'free' in ALMS, and six manufacturers are represented: Dunlop (2 cars); Goodyear (2); Kumho (1); Michelin (16); Pirelli (6); and Yokohama (1).

Qualifying is Friday afternoon for Saturday's four hour race, which starts in daylight and ends at night.
