Pilgrim's championship was due to his consistent driving, finishing in the top ten in all eleven GT races. He didn't score any victories or pole positions.
After the race, 3R Racing team owner TIM WIENS announced his retirement by throwing his shoes out the window. It was a variation on the theme utilised by wrestlers who place their shoes on their mats upon retiring.
While the GM Corvette team in the American Le Mans Series has told it will be back next year for another season of racing, the Cadillac programme hasn't yet been told its future for 2006.

SPEED TV, the usual 50-minute GT race was shortened to 45 minutes. Good thing. At the rate of testosterone-based aggressive driving, the leaders might not have survived. It was to have been 28 laps, but only lasted 20 laps due to the three caution periods for nine laps. The longest green flag stretch was four laps. Despite the bashing, crashing and thrashing, however, no drivers were injured.
Twenty-two of the 28 starters finished the race, with all but two on the lead lap.
