Tony Kanaan extends ALMS stint with Acura.

Tony Kanaan will maintain his place in the Andretti Green Racing Acura for the final round of the American Le Mans Series at Laguna Seca.

The Brazilian has managed two outings this season with the team he otherwise races for in the Indy Racing League, the first coming at Sebring and the second at the previous ALMS round at Road Atlanta.

However, while his debut with the team proved successful when help the team to a second place finish, Petit Le Mans failed to yield a finish following an accident.

Kanaan, who will join regular driver Bryan Herta in the squad, is hoping his experience at Laguna Seca will be more like Sebring and less like Road Atlanta.

“I'm really happy to be driving in the final ALMS event of the season. Unfortunately the Petit race didn't go like we'd hoped but we had a very strong showing at Sebring and I know Bryan and I want to help Acura end the season on the same high that we started it on. I had some success at Laguna Seca in my CART days and I'm looking forward to getting back there.”
