Sportscar ace Brabham looks back on another busy - and successful - campaign.

After Le Mans, I went back to my Highcroft Acura duties and we immediately picked up another third place at Lime Rock. This was great for the team as the points kept coming in, but we did see that the Penske Porsche had gone a bit quicker in the break.

They had definitely found something and, boy, as the last half of the season showed, they maintained that advantage too. We did get close at times, but their pace was too strong.

As the season drew to a close, we were fighting for third place in the championship with the ever-strong Dyson team, and it all came down to the last race at Laguna Seca.

The track was really tricky, and we just couldn't get any tyre temp - it was like driving on ice. We got into a strong position after a first corner spin by me, as I got the car back up to sixth from last, but Stefan and the Audi came together, giving us a puncture - then Butch Leitzinger in the Dyson hit him from behind when he slowed up as the tyre went flat. We then found ourselves down in fifth place behind the four Porsches, but ahead of the other Acura cars of Fernandez and Andretti Green Racing.

Still, for our first year, we did very well and I am sure the team will be very strong next year as everyone is so determined to win.

My thanks go to Duncan Dayton for signing me to the programme and being the best boss I have ever had, to HPD for strong engines that never had one problem, to Acura and Honda for their support, to the whole of the Highcroft team for an amazing year, and to Stefan, who is a top bloke. Also I must thank Aston Martin, Prodrive and my team-mates Dazza and Ricky for making Le Mans so memorable.

As for me and where I will be next year..... watch this space.
