Johnny Mowlem admits that he will be facing a huge challenge as he prepares for his race debut with the Corsa Motorsports team at Sebring next weekend.
The Briton, who competed for Risi Competizione in the race last season, will line-up alongside Gunnar Jeanette in the Corsa
Ferrari 430 this season as Steve Pruitt's team embarks on a full season of competition in the highly-competitive GT2 class.
Ralf Kelleners will join the pair for the famed Twelve Hour event that opens the ALMS season and Mowlem admitted that it was an event he couldn't wait for – even though it won't be easy for his team.
"There's simply nothing like it," he said. "I've been fortunate enough to race successfully at famous endurance races such as Le Mans 24, Nurburgring and
Daytona 24, and I can tell you that simply finishing at Sebring is a great test.
"We at Corsa Motorsports are all very aware that this is our first race together as a team and alongside Hankook with it being their first foray into the highly challenging atmosphere of the ALMS, Therefore we are under no illusions of grandeur in terms of our result.
"All we can do is go out there as a unit, and work in a professional and efficient way to achieve the best result possible. It will be a very different challenge to the race that I faced last year, but a challenge none the less. In fact in some ways this will be an even bigger challenge!"
