Marco Andretti admitted he was disappointed after the Andretti Green Racing team was unable to fight for pole position for the 56th running of the Sebring 12 Hours.
Qualifying at the Florida circuit was declared null and void after an accident for the BK Motorsports Lola of Ben Devlin early in the session, with the grid being formed instead by the times posted during practice.
That means the XM Satellite Radio Acura that Andretti will share with Bryan Herta and Christian Fittipaldi will line up fifth in the LMP2 class and eighth overall, with IndyCar ace Andretti admitting it was disappointing not to have been able to challenge for pole.
"This is incredibly disappointing because we've shown how quick the XM Satellite Radio Acura has been all week, he said. I really think we would have gotten the LMP2 pole position so I feel bad for the crew because that would have been a real boost for everyone.
That being said, we have to understand that this is a 12-hour race and no one is going to win because they sat on the pole. We know that the XM Acura is very durable and we expect to make our way to the front very quickly.
