Johnny Mowlem has paid tribute to Corsa Motorsport team boss Steve Pruitt for allowing the Briton to take up a drive at the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Mowlem has been called up into the Creation AIM team for the French classic following Jamie Campbell-Walter's accident during the Le Mans Series event at Monza and will partner Marc Goosens and fellow Brit Stuart Hall at the wheel of the team's lone LMP1 entry.
The move has been made possible after Corsa team boss Pruitt gave permission for Mowlem to return to Europe for the event, with the
Ferrari squad not joining fellow ALMS runners Risi Competizione and Flying Lizards in heading to France.
"I want to thank Steve for allowing me to switch teams for this one off event," Mowlem enthused. "Obviously my full time contract it with Steve, so it is very nice of him to be so supportive, and in fact he is coming over for the race to have a look at it all himself!
"It will be my sixth Le Mans, and I'm totally delighted for the opportunity that Mike Jankowski and the Creation AIM team have given me to compete again at what is any sports car driver's most important race of the year.
"I want to acquaint myself with everyone in the team, as well as the car, and get myself dialled in during the test day and race week practice. Then, if we can have a clear run, there is no conceivable reason why we won't have a great result.
"But Le Mans is bigger than any one team, car or person, and if you don't treat her with respect, you'll get bitten, so I'm not making any foolish predictions!"
