Andretti Green Racing has called on one of its Firestone Indy Lights drivers, Raphael Matos, to partner Franck Montagny in the #26 XM Satellite Radio Acura for this weekend's Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio.

The Brazilian will be making his first start for AGR in the American Le Mans Series, but has three previous ALMS appearances in the 12 Hours of Sebring and one at Petit Le Mans to call on as he joins the team's new permanent LMP2 driver.

Matos, the reigning Atlantic Series champion, currently lies second in the Indy Lights standings, having taken the #27 AFS/AGR entry to a pair of wins on the streets of St Petersburg and at Watkins Glen International, but faces a busy weekend at Mid-Ohio, as he combines his ALMS outing with a double-header in the open-wheel series.

"I'm very excited to be driving the XM Acura at Mid-Ohio in addition to my duties for the Firestone Indy Lights Series," Matos commented, "I got to test AGR's ALMS car at Mid-Ohio earlier in the season, which I think will help me get up to speed much quicker.

"I am looking forward to driving with Franck as I know that we will be able to work well together to set up the car. Hopefully, we can give Acura a win at its home track and give AGR its first win of the season."

Montagny joined AGR mid-season as the primary driver of its ALMS entry after Bryan Herta and Christian Fittipaldi were stood down following a disappointing start to the campaign. The Frenchman made his first start at Lime Rock Park last weekend, where he and Marco Andretti finished fifth in class and sixth overall.
